Coming back to Vauxhall was trepadatious for me… after my experiences at the completely dire Cloud 9 club (and the whole awful RTTS/catch23 thing)… And again I wasn’t sure abut the mixture of musical demografix. My experience of mixing house music ravers and Psy-trance fluffies has always left me uneasy.
However I have to admit this wasn’t a bad night at all. Possibly due to the influence of Mark Kaos who is doing his best to generate the right vibe here.
The décor in the Psy-trance room was trippy UV supplied by the Bristol stalwarts Wild Frog (tribe of frog), and they had done a fine job. Next door in the house room the decor was much more… bold and brash… not so detailed, and the music was bouncy and hard.
The atmosphere in the place was friendly and up front and the music was good rockin’ psy-trance tunes… Andrew Humphries set grabbed me… This guy is really on the up and up… he always picks fabulous tunes. Nice to hear Infected mushrooms new release ‘BPEmpire’ in there along with all the other stompers.
All this night needs now is a bit better turn out and it will be set…
